Ashley donates 1100 mattresses to nonprofits across US

ARCADIA, Wis. (WKBT) – Ashley Furniture Industries Inc. donated 1,102 mattresses to 10 nonprofit organizations across the United States to help provide relief during the COVID-19 pandemic.The value of the donation from the Arcadia-based company is more than $200,000. Recipients included children's organizations, churches, shelters and nonprofit organizations in communities where Ashley has manufacturing and distribution facilities.The contribution included Ashley HomeStore's donation of 100 new mattresses and bed frames to help fight the spread of COVID-19 in Tampa, Fla. The beds are being used as a temporary emergency shelter for homeless individuals in Tampa."Ashley Furniture is humbled to be able to donate these mattresses to a number of organizations that are working to help get those individuals and families the proper assistance," said Ashley President and CEO Todd Wanek. "We hope this donation helps ease some of the stresses in life, so they may focus on staying safe and healthy."Ashley's Distribution Services also have been hauling essential goods to fight the spread of COVID-19. The emergency loads have included medical supplies and masks from New Jersey to North Carolina, as well as paper products, grocery items, water, agricultural supplies, pet food and other essentials across the country.
