Ashley HomeStore of Metro NY & NJ donates $40000 to Feeding America

EDISON, N.J. — Home furnishings retailer Factory Direct Enterprises (dba Ashley HomeStore of Metro NY & NJ) has teamed up with Feeding America, donating $40,000 for food and resources.

In total, Ashley HomeStores around the country have come together to donate more than $448,000, providing more than 4.4 million meals nationwide. In addition, a match provided to Ashley HomeStore's contribution through the Tony Robbins challenge brings the total amount to more than 8 million meals donated.

"No one should face the uncertainty of not knowing where their next meal will come from," said Eugene Chrinian, president and CEO of Factory Direct Enterprises, which operates 16 Ashley HomeStores and three Ashley HomeStore Outlets. "Food is essential to life, and through this gift and the matching funds from Ashley Furniture Industries and Tony Robbins, we have tripled our impact."

The Factory Direct Enterprise donation supports area food banks, including the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, Feeding Westchester, Island Harvest, Long Island Cares, Food Bank for New York City and City Harvest.

Due to the increasing effects of COVID-19, 98% of Feeding America food banks are experiencing an increase in demand, with an average increase of 63%.

"Ashley HomeStore is proud to be able to come together, across our band of retail stores throughout the U.S., to help others in a time of great need," said Todd Wanek, president and CEO, Ashley Furniture Inds. "We are proud as an organization to partner with Feeding America, joining in its fight to combat hunger and aid our communities across this nation."
