With more than 70 percent of Americans still under stay-at-home orders from the coronavirus pandemic, most furniture stores are closed or doing limited business. The Home Furnishings Association, the nation's only trade association dedicated to furniture retailers, is working side by side to help members with a special COVID-19 Business Resource web page.   The COVID-19 Recovery Resources page keeps members updated on the HFA's constant communication with Washington legislators and lobbyists advocating for federal relief funds. Ashley Furniture furloughs 58 positions

ARCADIA, Wis. (WEAU)-- Arcadia Furniture Industries, Inc. announced that due to health concerns and economic impacts from COVID-19, the company will be furloughing 58 positions at the Arcadia location. Senior Direction of Human Resources Debra Clohisey says employees wil be able to use an accrued/unused vacation time if they choose. Workers will also continue to receive currently enrolled benefits. Knoxville Wholesale Furniture received warnings for violations at both of its locations, plus its Ashley Furniture store. One business has closed since receiving its warning about a violation. All of the businesses that have received violations have been deemed nonessential by the city.
